Who We Are, What We Do
Smart Microgreens was founded to promote Microgreens as a
sustainable, nutritious source of goodness AND assist entrepreneurs with
growth, sales and marketing tools to capitalize on this rapidly growing niche
market.
Planting
The running joke about fine dining is that the foods never leave you feeling satisfied. It's not for folks with a big appetite because the meal is served in microscopic portions on enormous dishes. Well, it appears that there is a method to the lunacy of modern day chefs.
Growing
Microgreens are tiny greens that can be grown in a limited
space, relatively quickly. Given their high nutritional value and the variety
of species available, microgreens will provide you with nutrient-dense greens,
and the de-stressing experience of working in your home garden.
Harvesting
In general, most microgreens take about 7-14 days to grow until
they’re ready to harvest. Normally, the growers harvest them when the first set
of “true leaves” is developing.
The
timing for harvesting microgreens is totally up to the growers themselves,
where some people prefer a little bit older (18-25 days) microgreens.
